Launch Party Photos and Story

The launch party photos arrived today,so we’d like to share them with you. The launch   party at Cafe Calamari in Williams Bay , WI  was a great success and Karen and I were like chicken’s with our heads cut off leading up to the event. At the same as planning the event were working on getting the website launched and Ellen, Karen’s daughter was graduating high school. We spent the day before organizing 1100 Pocket Poppets to be sized and labelled. We hired Above and Beyond headed up by Maria Loomer to help us pull that part of things together. Maria and her help were a God send. There was no way that Karen and I could have done all that we had to do without them and Glynda , Karen’s mum , who patiently sat in Karen’s kitchen pinning hang tags together and not only did a great job but seemed to enjoy it ! By the time this week arrived I know that i was emotionally running on empty. I mentioned it to Karen too, and she was in the same place. We had put so much, time, energy and passion up to this point and I felt like I was the wedding planner and the bride , planning a very large wedding. It was kind of scary to actually be at the point where we were launching. I got so involved and insular the closer were to the launch and I remember at one point realizing that I spent more time that week , talking to Siri on my Iphone putting in reminders and notes, than...

The Website launch & Launch Party At Cafe Calamari

It has been over two weeks since i have written ! The time has flown by. Since the last post on June 1st  , The Pocket Poppet has started to take on a life of it’s own. I drove up to Wisconsin on Sunday June 2nd and took a break for a few hours once I arrived. I drove to Karen’s house in the early evening and stayed there until the 7th. What a crazy time ! On Monday June 3rd we worked like crazy with our web designers Dooley & Associates to get the website up and live. Thanks to Matt & Dora we finally launched late on Monday evening. So many details, so much work , but worth it in the end. We love the look of our brand new site and the next step is to launch the online store. The website address is http://www.thepocketpoppet.com - please check it out ! There was so much to do to prepare for the launch party and Karen’s garage became a workshop to get the Pocket Poppets sized, sorted and tagged. We will be forever grateful for the much needed services of Maria Loomer and all the ladies that helped over the next couple of days. They tirelessly sorted and tagged so that we could be organized for the launch. We will also be forever grateful to Mike Bettilyon for the delivery of our product - we could not have done it without you Buzz Lightyear ‘ to infinity and B E Y O N D !...

The Clock strikes Midnight….

It has just turned midnight – I am exhausted. It’s been another day of running to pick up more Poppets – my car is loaded to the gills – just enough room left in the trunk for the suitcase that I still have to pack for my 5 days in Wisconsin and for Bethany’s camera equipment and not another thing ! I took a break from the computer for a few hours and caught up on the mundane. It felt good. The laundry pile is like a mountain and I’m running out of undies ! The morning will be busy again and we are launching the website Monday morning. I’m looking forward to the launch , because that means a lot of stuff will be done. That Poppetini martini in my near future is sounding mighty good about now ! Got to hold it together until Wednesday night around 10pm ! Then I may let my hair down ! It’s like back in my wedding planning days. I would wait until around 10.30pm to have a glass of vino. I timed most weddings so that the bouquet toss and garter were done at 10.30 ish , then I knew my last part of the job was finished ! That is until the next morning when the bride lost her bouquet or vases need returning...
